Salvation

1. What is Salvation?

When I write the word 'salvation' I do not mean salvation from trouble, poverty, loneliness, unemployment, disease or even the first death we humans all experience. No, in Stewarton Bible School publications the word 'salvation' means salvation from eternal death, that total and final annihilation of the body, mind and spirit: the death from which there is no return and to which there is no end.

2. Why this Death Sentence?

Our first parents disobeyed Yahweh the Creator of the mighty universe. They sinned and passed the sin virus onto all of us; and all of us have sinned. According to the Sriptures disobedience is sin and the penalty for sin is death - eternal death! This means that we are all under a death penalty. Here is the proof of these stunning facts.
Romans 5: 12: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Romans 6: 23: For the wages of sin is death.
Rom 3: 23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

3. Who is Doing the Saving?

Jehovah (Yahweh) the Almighty God of Israel is doing the saving. His main objective in this present age is to save sinners (this includes you and me) from eternal death. No matter how bad our sins may be, He is able to cleans us from them and to restore us to the perfection He has in mind. He is in the salvage business: and from the garbage dump of human society He is rescuing, redeeming, sanctifying and purifying His wayward sons and daughters!
Isaiah 1: 18: Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19: If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

4. How is Salvation Accomplished?

The Almighty God is accomplishing the salvation of human souls by means of His only begotten Son Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ). Jesus came to earth to pay the price for our salvation by dying on our behalf. In other words, he died for our sins. He paid the price for our salvation. Every soul, no matter how guilty he/she may be, is offered salvation through Jesus. Salvation is a free gift from God to you! If you believe and accept these facts you will be pardoned by the Almighty. You will live for all time. But if you disbelieve and fail to act upon them then you will die for your sins as surely as you are reading this file.

I do not wish to dramatise these facts with patronising or threatening words. They are too important for that. But I'll leave you with a key passage of Scripture which tell these truths infinitely better than I ever can.
John 3: 16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

5. An Important Question

The Almighty God is about to restore His wayward family to levels of joy and bliss no human mind can imagine. He has scheduled Himself to obliterate sorrow, sickness, pain and death. His plan includes the creation of a new universe in which His children will live for all time; sharing in an inheritance infinitely better than anyone in this present world has ever known. No mind can imagine the peace, joy and happiness that is in store for those who accept salvation, the free gift that was paid for at enormous cost by the Almighty Himself. Have you accepted the Almighty's generous offer of salvation? If you haven't, now is the time to do so. Yes, at your computer terminal, you can bow your head and repeat this short prayer:

"Yahweh, my heavenly Father, I accept your offer of salvation through Jesus (Yeshua) my Saviour. Forgive me my sins and restore me to my rightful place in your eternal family. I have sinned: (At this point, confess your sins to Him) Forgive me these sins and any others I am unaware of. Amen."

When you have finished praying that simple prayer; (and of course the words can be changed to suit yourself) rise up determined to follow God: to learn and obey His will. This site has a lot of material on line to help you do just that. By the way, welcome to the Royal Family!

6. Present and Future Realities

Will the acceptance of salvation remove all life's problems? No it will not. Believers do not live trouble-free lives. They have burdens. Many are unemployed, poor, lonely, ill or persecuted. But all this is temporary. It will not last for ever. It will end - sooner than many suppose. However, in this life salvation brings amongst other things - peace of mind, faith and hope. Above all, salvation ensures that from now on Yahweh is with you in all life's difficulties. You are no longer alone - never again! By His Spirit He is at your side and in you. Consider and remember these encouraging words.
1 John 3: 2: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Romans 8: 18: For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
1 Corinthians 2: 9: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Revelation 21: 1: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2: And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3: And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5: And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6: And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7: He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

You'll never in all your life hear of a better deal than Yahweh's offer of salvation through His only begotten Son Yeshua, the Saviour of the world! Accept His offer today.
